The book of Mirdad

This is a classical spiritual literature. This is the book. I am extremely selective in reading books. So, selective that I almost don't read any book. I would have read the least number of books as compared to others, in general. Because I believe in bad books. All books are not good as it appears. And ever I cared is only about the truth which books do not contain. Books contain information about the truth, not the truth. When you r hungry, food is the only way. I love books lying on the shelf rather than reading them. And it so happened when other day I picked "the book of mirdad". After a long time I started reading a classical spiritual text. The book really has something in it. Although millions have tried to measure the depth of ocean but very few have succeeded in true sense. Mirdad is one of them. A rare piece. It was like Ashtavakra Geeta. Do give it a shot. It will be more insightful than tonnes of bestsellers. It may not make you more knowledgeable about certain subject matter, but it will open a new dimension of life in you (provided you are open, a closed pot cannot be filled). And that's what your holy teachers have done to you unknowingly. When Jesus says, "god forgive them coz they don't know what they r doing" - is of tremendous value. Your teacher, your politician, your parents didn't know what they were doing to you. And you will repeat the same nonsense to your kids in a little different manner subjected to the society. If u look at the humanity, it is doing same nonsense starting from day 1. Man has not changed at all. Means have changed, environment is changed, time has changed. But man is utterly same. Doing, but no idea of doings. Just following a race. Since everybody else is racing so I am racing. And that everybody thinks. Everybody is fooling everybody else.

This world would have been full of natural gardens, full of contented and cheerful people living in their totality. Buddhas would have been your neighbours. Unless each and every person on the earth will become lile Buddha the problems of this world will not be solved no matter what you do. This is my word I say onto you that Buddha knew it. We need 1000 Buddhas operating at a time and the fate of human race can be changed forever.

Contradictions

Our holy teachers taught us that contradictions are not good. We should avoid contradictions. Contrarily, I find contradictions very beautiful when analyzed carefully. Often contradictions turns out to be complementary. First of all, what is required is a clear mind free from illusions which just see the reality as it is. But how do you know what is an illusion and what is not an illusion? Now this is a million $ question. There are two separate distinct school of thoughts at this point. The thought of eastern civilization originated mostly from India - "This is unreal, that is real." And the thought of west - "This is real, that is unreal." This is where east and west contradictions in proposing the reality.

I feel that these school of thought should be merged to - "This is real, that is real" - Even unreal is real. We cannot simply deny the unreal. Since unreal is the part of this very existence, it should be merged to real. So, everything is real as far as understanding is concerned. Then east and west are in consensus at this point - the convergence of reality.

Now coming to practical aspect of my life. I have not cared for good and bad. I simply live experimentally. Experience can be good and bad with which I am not concerned. But, I am concerned with the experience. I simply don't believe in just living a consistent "so called" good life. I hate the word - "consistent". Really really hate this word - consistent. But if it happens on it's own, naturally, it's okay. Then it's perfectly okay. Anything which happens naturally, be it consistent, inconsistent, good, bad, is good. However, the life in general remains mysterious and inconsistent. As a student I have received, both good and bad feedback. One teacher told me you are a very intelligent student. Never seen an intelligent hard working like you. The other teacher told me you are a fool. The deviation of complements received in my life varies too much. Even in professional life I received both very good performer and then average performer. Have you ever think on "average". This is such a beautiful word. I will write about average sometime later. Meanwhile keep thinking on - "law of average" :)

The garden and the forest

That day while driving I saw a garden. The gardener was chopping off the leaves giving them a shape. Now this is very cruel activity. There were rows of small plants each of same height and size. What will happen if they are allowed to grow on their own? Just like it happens in the forest. Why to chop-off their leaves?? There is a life in those leaves. Those leaves are supposed to live then dry and fell down later. The beauty of garden looks very artificial. Whereas the forest, where plants, trees are naturally allowed to grow looks very natural. No effort is put in the making of a forest. It is created spontaneously. No gardener ever created a forest, but it exists. The forest is created by itself. The garden is created by gardener. A person. With a chopper in hand. I don't enjoy sitting in a garden much. I love anything which has happened spontaneously naturally - the forest. But, there is a danger in the forest from animals. That is where you will feel life. In a garden there is no danger - no lion, no snakes, no insects, so you won't feel the life. Because, everything is known in a garden - that you are safe from lion, snakes. But that's not the case in a forest. In a forest you have to be careful from Snakes, insects and so many other things. There are just too many unknown factor in a forest. So, it becomes a mystery. And life is a mystery. As long as mystery is maintained - life exists. The moment mystery is resolved life becomes boredom. And once it becomes boredom, you have to drag it. And I really think that whole humanity is simply dragging the life hoping for a better tomorrow. And "that tomorrow" never comes. Because, it never came ever. So, keep the mystery alive and live spontaneously. Don't worry, no one will ever know the mystery of life. It's not a problem if we don't know the mystery of life. That's what life's very nature is.

Nature

It doesn't matter whether i am good or not, what matter is whether u r
good or not. Buddha was a good person, perhaps the best ever, but it
didn't matter much to the humanity. Humanity is doong same shit
irrespective of buddha. Because humanity is a big thing. 6 billion.
And buddha knew it. I am not in favour of imdividual enlightenment.
However i believe that if something has never happened in the history
it will never happen in the future. Commumal enlightenment has never
happen in the history of human civilization. So it will never happen
in the future.
There r just too many ppl on the earth. And every body has his/her
prejudices. This situation may be the demand of existence itself.
Because natute always exist in its completeness. The sun is created.
Now nothing can be done about it. Every morning the sun rises in the
east and this event is complete. There is no scope of improvement in
it. That is the reasom i do not favour development. I favour
existence. Not the development. I support to be an observer not a
developer. U need to be a very careful observer of the nature. Just
watch the nature around you. You can see the existence is manifested
in a very beautiful manner. Watch the dawn - the first ray of the sun.
The song of birds. The sound of the river at night. The forest. Random
trees. The fragrance of the flower. See how plant sucks the soil from
it's roots and spread the fragrance in the atmosphere. Isn't it a
miracle. It is. It is a great miracle. The soil has no fragrance.
Flower has fragrance. But flower will not exist without soil. Look at
the survival extinct of the flower. The whole of existence must have
supported the flower to spread the fragrance. It is a miracle.
Impossible has become possible. Normally we dont realize it because we
take things for granted. The is the message of existence. Undetstand
the nature. Behave naturally. I have never lived life like a
pretender. I dont know how to pretend. When i feel happy i am happy.
When i dont feel happy, i am not happy. That is as simple as this. Due
to my this attitude i am treated little differently among my friends.
I have never followed crowed, being in crowd. My whole life is
experimental. I want to taste both good and bad. I am good. I am bad.
I am.

Buddha's sleep

Anand lived with buddha for many years, for years he slept near
buddha. One morning he asked buddha, "for years i have been watching
you sleep. Not once do you ever change sides; you sleep the whole
night in the same position. Your limbs stay where they were when you
laid down at night; there is not even slightest movement. Many times i
have got up at night to check whether you have moved. I have stayed up
nights watching you - your hands, your feet, rest in the same
position; you never ever change sides. Do you keep some kind of a
record of your sleep the whole night?"
"I dont need to keep records," Buddha replied. I sleep in a conscious
state, so i find no need to change sides. I can if i want to. "

Lesson - we should be aware of even our sleep. Means be always aware.

A man in the paradise

Once a man was traveling, accidentally he entered paradise. In the Indian concept of paradise there are wish-fulling trees there Kalptarus. You just sit underneath them, desire anything and immediately it is fulfilled - there is no gap between the desire and it's fulfillment. There is no gap between a thought and a thing. You think and immediately it becomes thing; the thought materializes automatically.

The man was tired, so he fell asleep under a Kalptaru, a wish-fulling tree. When he woke-up he was feeling very hungry, so he simply said, "I'm feeling so hungry. wish I could get some food from somewhere." And immediately food appeared out of no where - just floating in the air, delicious food.

He was so hungry that he didn't pay attention to where it had come from - when you are hungry you are not philosophic. He immediately started eating, and the food was so delicious that he was caught up in the food. Once his hunger was gone. He looked around. Now that he was feeling very satisfied another thought arose in him. "If I could get some drink..." -- and there is still no prohibition in the paradise. Immediately precious wine appeared.

Drinking the wine relaxedly in the cool breeze of paradise under the shade of the tree, he started wondering, "What is the matter? What is happening? Have I fallen into a dream, or are some ghosts around and playing tricks with me?" And Lo - ghost appeared, ferocious ghosts, horrible, nauseating. Then he started trembling, and a thought arose in him: "Now I am sure to be killed. the people are going to kill me."

He was killed.

The socks

A merchant went to a farmer to get a pound of butter. The farmer insisted on swapping the butter for a pair of wollen socks. When the merchant reported this to his wife, she said - i'll unravel some wool from our bedspread and knit him pair of socks. When it was finished a pair socks was exchanged for a pound of butter.
When the merchant needed more butter, his wife again unravelled more of the bedspread and knit more socks, which were exchanged for butter. Finally she had enough wool for one sock. The merchant took the sock to farmer and asked for half pound of butter for it.
"Nothing doing", replied the farmer. "I'll give you a full pound of butter. You see, I really dont wear socks. My wife unravels the wool and uses it for knitting a bedspread, and there's just enough in this one sock to finish it. "

Our teachers

Remember our middle school teachers. Our high school teachers. When they were busy molding us for a better future. To become a better human being. When they were teaching us don't do this, don't do that, do this, do that, don't lie, live happily together, share your happiness blah blah blah. As if he has followed all of them. After following all of them he became a middle school teacher. I am not against any middle school teacher. As they are victims of their teachers. Their middle school teachers taught them the same nonsense. And they are simple passing down to generations and generations. They programmed us to live in the future which is the very basis of mind. We have been singing same song "Ham honge kaamyaab ek din". But when? When will this song be over. And I tell you - we want to wait for ultimate success but we really don't want to achieve it. Because, once you achieve the ultimate you have nothing to do. So in the waiting it seems there is a journey. But we have been waiting waiting waiting that one day some miracle will happen. Waiting for a better tomorrow. This is what humanity have been doing from day one.

I wanted to meet an ordinary person. Have you met an ordinary person lately. A simple person. I would really love to meet him/her. Now a days everybody has become extraordinary. There is a push to become extraordinary. No one is happy with what he is. Everybody wants to become what he is not. Say I want X amount of cash in my Bank. I work hard and achieve it. Now I want 2X amount of money. I work even more harder and make 2X. Now I again want do double it. Again work or work hard and make it 4X and so on. And then death takes away everything from you. Whatever you are doing is true only when man is immortal.

The world would have been full of gardens, full of cheerful contented people. Existence doesn't need much. It's fully contented. That's the reason I wanted to meet an ordinary person. But you can always see a child. Jesus said - "Thou shalt not go to kingdom of god unless you become like a child." A child has all the qualities of an enlightened being. Observe a child very carefully. A child has no prejudices, you are full of that. Only thing you have is the prejudices borrowed from others and nothing else. That's the very basis of ego. A newly born child is fully enlightened. Can you imagine his/her mind? - utterly empty.

"We have existed for finite duration of time but, we'll exist for infinite duration of time"

The goal of nature

First of all I want to understand why thoughts exist? Forget about dropping them. That's another story. All the enlightened being on the earth have worked on just dropping their thoughts and reach to mindless mind state. Thoughts doest exist. There is no doubt about it. Now why to drop it? What's so much bothering there? And if at all it creates certain type of problems to the existence itself, then existence would have not created it. But existence created it - thoughts exist. According to me nothing should exist. If there were no thoughts then there is no question of dropping it. What Buddha says it - thoughts exist but you drop it. I am saying even thoughts should not exist so, there is no question of dropping it. I am repeatedly saying nothing should exist. But it exist somehow. This is what I am not understanding. I don't see any purpose of existence. That existence is serving some purpose, so we exist. Every morning we get up to achieve something, to achieve a goal. But that we have been doing from day 1. If nature had a plan then it would have achieved it by now because the nature has been in existence and working for infinite years. Every goal, every purpose should be achieved in the infinite years. Nature has already worked infinite years towards it's goal and is still working...We still getup every morning - part of work of nature. This is the biggest mystery which perhaps no body knows - Does nature has a plan? If it has a plan then why it is not yet achieved? We must understand the "whole".

They say we don't care whether nature has a plan or not. What we care is about this moment. This moment is fine. There is absolutely no problem in this moment as far as it's existence is concerned. Crossing all the barriers this moment has come so it is existing at this moment. According to me nature should not exist at all. So that it doesn't give you an opportunity to ask "why nature exist?". The intelligence of the whole is much more than that of an individual. If existence was created for a purpose and that purpose doesn't yet seem to be achieved that means we existed only for finite duration of time - infinity doesn't exist. So, infinity just seem to be a meta concept which doesn't exist - hence finite. Because goals of the nature are not yet achieved. It is still working. The consciousness is still evolving... Day-by-day, second-by-second it evolves. So, it appears that nature only exist for finite duration of time completing finite set of goals. And once the goal is achieved - nothing exist. But it opens another question - once the goal was achieved in the past why the hell it created another goal of which we are part of? A cycle of goals?

Osho Rajneesh

I love reading Osho books. He writes perfectly. Speaks what it should be spoken. One of the very primitive thinker. He was a very real person. He can speak what others would never dare to. His books, his talks changed my perception to the life. And I also paid reading his books :-) If you understand his books wrongly, that may cause disaster in life. He was able to understand human behaviors more accurately. According to him life should be like a mirror. Should reflect what is there in-front. And when nothing is present, mirror should be empty. That simply means without pretending. Never pretend. I usually take his point and extend it further if there is any scope to extend. By mirror he is simply saying that be natural. As natural as possible. No judgement. Just an observer. When he says life is flux, what he wants to say is every moment is new. So, there should not be any boredom. If you go to a river today, it doesn't carry the same water it was carrying yesterday although the river is still same. He is very particular about "this moment". He says this present moment is complete and there is nothing beyond this moment. There is not much need of evolution in it. Why would God create something and leave it evolve on its own till eternity. According to christians God created this world in 6 days and on the 7th day
he rested. What the heck he did on the 8th day? What has been he doing from 8th day onwards till today? Allowing the nature to evolve by itslef? This whole universe looks like an error case which is evolving to nullify the root cause of the error. Nothing much is needed in this universe. Everything seem to be complete in itself. Just a careful watch, a careful observation is needed. Just see a little more carefully and you would know that you are complete. You cannot be improved dramatically. You exist that's enough. In that moment you exist. So the whole universe must have supported you to exist. That must be the plan of the whole. The whole doesn't have a very big plan like we have. We have big plans, big dreams which all lies in the horizon of the future. In this momemnt which is existing we have nothing. Everything is in the future. One day I would become billionaite. And that one day never come. "One day we will be successful". Shit on that "one day". What about now? Are we successful now? Just make sure that you "now" is perfect. It will ensure that your future will be perfect. Future doesn't drive the present, present drives the future.

The future of human race

All the talks, theories, principles work in a context. Without a context it will not have any meaning. I was thinking on the importance of knowledge. Do we need to acquire knowledge? Contextually, yes. Say, I want to go from my home to my office. Then, I must know the ways. The routes. The buses, etc. So, the knowledge is definitely required in order to go from my home to my office. There is no second thought about it. But, going to office is a need, so I need knowledge of the routes. That means "need creates knowledge". Whosoever had said "necessity is the mother of invention" must be a genius. If Albert Einstein is genius, then that must be the demand of the society at that time. Why there was no Einstein in the Jesus time. If the society doesn't need intelligence for it's execution, intelligent people will not be produced. This is very simple. Not a matter of surprise that Shakespeare was in the 16th century.

What is the relationship between intelligence and knowledge? Intelligence is born out of this moment. Knowledge is a kind of history. Something, you've done in the past, so you know about it. Knowledge is essentially a memorable experience in that past. Intelligence go on with the present moment. Out of present moment intelligence arise. Like a child. Child doesn't carry any past, no imagination of future. Just this moment. Word "intelligence" is corrupted now-a-days. Normally, the more educational qualification you have, the more intelligent you are termed. That's not true. I bet none of your action is yours. It's all programmed by the society. None of your thoughts is actually yours. It comes from society. Society has made you to think like the way you think, thinking that it's your thinking. But actually, it's thinking of the society. A massive programming has been done in you. This is the trick of the society to create slaves.

Think about computers. What is happening? We are putting so much of intelligence in the computer. Why? Because we don't want to carry our own intelligence. So, we are making computer intelligent. Instead of we remembering our tasks, computers do it. So, definitely we want to get rid of carrying our own intelligence. Why so much of automation? A day will come when human intelligence will not be needed. Everything will be fully automated. And machine intelligence will overpower human intelligence. However, human has consciousness which machine doesn't. Computer has no fears, no worry, no future, no sorrow, no kids but human has all of them. You know exactly what - we have become like a machine less efficient than machines. Kasparov, the best brain in the chess lost to Deep Blue, a computer program made by IBM. What is the future of human intelligence? Medical science is going to develop too much. It will become the most advanced engineering on the earth. Bio scientist are working on genetic level. Which somehow allow them to alter human behavior. I don't know how, but they do. By doing some programming in DNA. Fate of humans lies into the development of computer engineering and medical engineering. On one side the computers are taking away all the intelligence humans possess, and on the other side medical science is going to alter human behavior in any way they want. This extremely dramatic situation puts a strong question mark on the existence of human. What will you do when computer engineering and medical engineering will converge? What will be your identity? How will you be described? Trust me you would be hardly left with anything. Because everything will be programmed. The world will be full of machines. Even human beings will be also reduced to machines with minimum programmed functionality. Constraints will start tightening from many directions and human race would behave extremely erratic leading to war. So, it's extremely essential that our consciousness which is unaltered by any engineering must rise in proportion with all the scientific development.

Following are the few commandments I would like to put in black and white.

1. Freedom of thoughts. Absolutely free.

2. Like a mirror - whatever is there, is reflected. When not there, not reflected. Non-pretending.

3. Stop and see. When see, see.

4. Effortlessness. Hard but gently.

5. Awareness

6. Completeness in the present moment. Fun, Laughter and Enjoy.

7. At the end, transcend - even commandments.

Hmmm

Seven months and no words. I was thinking to write but there was nothing to write at many instances. Perhaps whatever I wanted to write, wrote. If I write more, i'll be just repeating in another innovative fashion. That is the reason I consider most innovative innovations as just elegant repetitions. However, as time passes experiences gathers. Which can scribbled.

These days I am realizing that no matter how much knowledge of philosophy you have, no matter how much understanding of the truth you have you would always need a support. A strong beam of support on which you can rest upon. I am talking of Bhakti. I am not trying to put a point here. Truth is not a matter of point, not a matter of sense. It has been long since I had stopped making a point, a sense. I am really bored of it. I don't know why my consciousness always goes to the root. I can't think anything except the root. The origin. And at the root mind stops. Mind cannot function at the root.
